Difference Between the N-Power Programme and NYSC

The N-Power programme is like the NYSC programme, but there is a difference however.

·       N-Power lasts for a period of two years while NYSC lasts for just one year.

·       N-Power is simply a quick and immediate way to engage the ever increasing unemployed Nigerian youths. 

·       NYSC requires a little paramilitary training but, N-Power may not likely involve such rigorous training.

·       NYSC was aimed at Rebuilding, Reconstruction and Reconciliation of the Ethnically injured Nigeria established by Gowon after the civil war, But there is nothing asuch here; N-Power is simply for employment, simply aimed to make the youths busy and engaged for a period of two years while they get trained in such area of interest for a possible employment after the two years.

·       In NYSC you get posted to states that are not within your zone or ethnic sphere and you do not have the power to determine where you will go, but in N-Power, you are posted to where you requested through your application form. That was the reason for your Residential address which was filled in the application form. You are definitely going to be sent to where you reside as was filled in the form. There was even an option as to whether you would want to be posted to your own state of origin. So I just hope the information you supplied are correct, otherwise, you are on your own.

Similarities between N-Power and NYSC

·       In both You are entitled to a stipend monthly.

·       Both are meant to engage the minds of the youths.

·       Both are Federal Government programmes.
