ISSUES FOR YOUTHS - FASHION AMONG YOUTHS

Taking a cursory look at our present society, one should not waste time in discovering the inter-connectivity between the youths and fashion. Children and adults bother little or not at all on what to wear. That is why I thought it worthwhile to include this sub-chapter as one of the characteristics of a YOUTH. The youth period is a time of discovery. During this time, one discovers he has been going naked, half-naked or dirty; and as a result tends to cover up or better still, to look good among peers.

 Today, it is customary among the youths to look fashionable. This is because it is in our nature to do so. Strange and sometimes, quaint clothes which are scarcely ever used are acquired. Sometimes it may be an approaching festival, a few hours ceremony or the burial ceremony of a dead colleague. The newly employed who their colleagues are getting married have to find a special attire to grace the occasion. University students see matriculation and induction ceremonies as special avenues and reasons to make new attire. Today, youths have stuffed apartments, wardrobes, drawers and trunks with so many clothes that the choice of what to wear, the day to wear and when to wear are now a problem. The worst being that these materials after the very occasion for which it was meant for which may have lasted just for only two hours, may not be worn again. This is fashion crazy! It is natural in a youth undergoing the period of youth.
